Taste of Regina... flashback to Sunday's eats

Below: SoHo Restaurant's Orange Sorbet in an Orange... sweet (perhaps too sweet?) but I'd have another.

Wish it were all good news people.
Above: A tasty caramel sauce on dry stale brownies. Origin unknown.

Above: Cajun Chicken Burger from Zest Restaurant. Nice sauce, not excited about the overcrisp overcooked overbreaded chicken though.

Above: Untasted Empanadas. Alfredo's.

Cement and man-hole covers

Currently there is a project in my neighbourhood which is apparently taking every last sewer pipe related opening (manhole covers, drains, what-have-you) and either putting a cement ring around it or just simply surrounding it with cement. Plus these guys are doing something down in the sewer. Needless to say, the roads are a complete maze by this point, narrowing in many places to the width of a car.

"Family Fun Day" in downtown Regina

This is the Fudu dancing where kids can join in with the adult lead dancers for a freeform dance session.

A Taste of Regina

A nice idea. $5 for 4 coupons, each place had a mini-dinner for 4 coupons, a side for 3, and a dessert for 2. Portions were small, but hey, you're there for a taste!

My camera battery expired, so no shots of the food unfortunately!

Cinema 6 Drive-in from the highway

Regina's twin cinema as immortalized in the song by the New Pornographers.

It closed this year for good. So many fond memories, so glad I was able to take my boys to experience Regina's last drive-in before it was gone.

More from Canada Day afternoon...

Usually there are two missionaries wandering the park discussing the world after this one, but today they took a break to hand out Canada flags.
